About AEON

AEON Motor was founded in 1998 in Tainan City, Taiwan and produces small motorcycles, scooters and ATVs. Before it ventured to the motor business, it was called KAU MEI PLASTIC COMPANY LTD and used to make plastic parts for motorcycles and scooters in the ‘70s. Once it was established as a motor company, it began producing motorcycles, scooters and engines as well as spare parts and accessories. AEON expanded its boundaries to include the European market.

The company is operated by Chung Cheih-Lin who has nearly twenty years of experience in the manufacture of motorcycle parts and R&D. AEON started by manufacturing small-displacement machines such as 50cc and 100cc. In the year 2000, they advanced to larger models and introduced the first 150cc model which featured a reverse gear. By the following year, the firm was in a position to produce 52,000 units annually. It also introduced the new 180cc model into the market.

In August 2001, the company moved its operations to Shan-Shang to occupy a 33,000-meter area. This offered AEON a chance to boost production. The companies list of models is divided into three classes: the ATVs, scooters and mini-bikes. ATVs: Aeon 300, Cobra 220, 320, Overland 125/180, Sporty 125/180, Cobra 50/100 and Minikolt 50; Scooters:  Aero, Pulsar, Echo, Argon, Regal and Nox; Mini-bikes: Mini-Bike. The Cobra takes pride of place as the most successful of the ATV with the 320 model displaying a powerful 14.5 KW at 6500 rpm and a torque of 19 Nm at 5500 rpm. The Pulsar scooter comes in three engine variations: 100cc, 125cc, and 150cc. the three are available in silver, red and blue. The Aero scooter comes with two displacements: 50cc and 100cc. they are both available in yellow, blue, silver and red.

Seeing as the motorcycle market was overrepresented, AEON decided to introduce new machines thinking to focus on diversification, heavy-duty bikes as well as leisure. The first of this idea was made into reality in 1999 when the firm sold its first All-Terrain Vehicle. In another year, the company was able to sign an agreement to collaborate with Polaris, a well respected ATV manufacturer.
