The Oregon DMV is the department that provides information about motor vehicle driving records. These records essentially show your driving history, including your driver’s license suspensions, revocations, tickets, violations, accidents and other information related to your driving experience.

Types of Oregon Driving Records

These are different types of Oregon driving records:

Non-Employment Driving Record

You can request a non-employment driving record from Oregon Driver DMV. This document contains unofficial driving history from the past three years. Information on this record includes traffic accidents, diversion agreements and convictions not associated with an employment driving record.

Open-Ended Non-Employment Driving Record

You can also request an open-ended non-employment driving record from Oregon DMV. This record can only be requested by you, insurance companies and insurance support organizations. This type of driving record is certified and it is commonly used by insurance companies to determine your insurance rates.

Employment Driving Record

You can also request an employment driving record. This record is certified and it shows the following information for the past three years: CDL entries Employment-related convictions and accidents Out-of-state CDL entries.

Certified Court Print

You can also opt for a certified court print record. This document includes major traffic offense convictions, diversion agreements, CDL incidents, alcohol rehabilitation entries for the past 10 years, driver’s license suspensions and Convictions for accidents and minor offences of 5 years.

Suspension Package

The Oregon DMV also provides a suspension package. This package contains certified documents associated with court proceedings.

Driver License Information Record

Your Oregon driver license information record contains your personal information, such as your name, date of birth, mailing address and driver’s license status (number, type, issue date, and expiration date). You can access this information verbally by use of Oregon Department of Motor Vehicle’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. You can also access this information electronically.

Oregon Traffic Accident and Insurance Information

Your Oregon traffic accident and insurance information record provides details of any accident that you may have had within this state. This report also contains information on driver, owner of the vehicle, occupants in the vehicle, names of witnesses, vehicle registration number and insurance information. This report is only provided to those involved in an accident, their personal representatives and families.

Police Traffic Crash Report

This is a photocopy of an accident report that has been submitted to the Oregon DMV, after accident investigation.

Driver License Application History

Your Oregon driver license application history is a record that contains all copies of your duplicate, original and renewal applications for a driver’s license.

Miscellaneous Driver Document Copy

This is a document that contains copies of specific documents associated with your driving, record, driving privileges and non-restricted accident details.

Purged Information

The Oregon DMV also provides purged information record. This is a report that comes with microfiche documents that have driving record that has been deleted from a computer file.

Order Your Oregon Driving Record

You can request your Oregon driving record by mail or in person. You cannot order it online.

In Person

You can visit your local OR DMV office to request your Oregon driving record without personal information. You will be required to provide:

  • Your full name, date of birth and driver’s license number
  • Payment of driving record request fee
  • Proof of your identity
  • Completed form 735-7266 (Order Your Own Record).

By Mail

You can also request your Oregon driving record by mail. To do so:

  • Fill and complete Form 735-7266 (Order Your Own Record form)
  • Collect proof of identity, such as ID card, Driver’s license or Passport
  • Look for a self-addressed, stamped envelope where your driving record will be sent to
  • Include a money order or check to pay your driving record fee.

Employer, Insurance, and Court Requests

Under the federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, attorney, employer or insurance company may request someone else’s driving record. So in general someone else’s driving record can be requested:

  • By Government agencies to be used in official business
  • By court to use them in arbitration proceedings
  • By insurance companies to use them when determining your insurance premiums
  • By employers to use when conducting pre-employment background check.
